Policy And Service Guidelines
Standinghorse provides web hosting to people all around the
world. We have the responsibility to protect each client and provide
them with the best services available. The following guidelines
were designed to insure these services.
Content:
All services provided by Standinghorse may be used for lawful
purposes only. This includes, but is not limited to:
copyrighted material, material we judge to be threatening or obscene,
or material protected by trade secret and other statue. The subscriber
agrees to indemnify and hold harmless Standinghorse from
any claims resulting from the use of the service which damages
the subscriber or any other party.
Note: Pornography and sex-related merchandising are prohibited
with Standing Horse. This is also true for sites
that promote any illegal activity or content that may be damaging
to Standinghorse or any other server on the internet.
Links to such materials are also prohibited.

software
- Hackers
programs or archives
- Warez
Sites
- Child
Pornography
- While
we do not ban MP3s, we do ask that any MP3s you have on your
website are not in violation of any copyrights. Copyrighted
music, in any format, cannot be placed within client's account.
- Copyrighted
material, in any format (does not apply to clients that have
written permission to use such materials from the copyright
owner.) Standinghorse reserves the right to request proof
of such permissions.
Standing Horse will be the sole arbiter as to what constitutes a
violation of this provision.
Unlimited Traffic
We are pleased to offer our clients unlimited traffic/hits, and
server usage. To maintain the integrity of our service the following
limitations apply.
- Multiple
hosts resolving at a ip or domain name we provide
- Sites
with banners, graphics or cgi's running from their domain
being used on other domains.
- Sites
with immense graphic archives or galleries (sites with 50%
or more grahics or galleries).
- Sites
offering immense download archives, such as .zip, .tar, .ra
and .GZ. (sites with 50% or more downloadable files)
- Sites
using more than 20% of system CPU, or sendmail resources for
mass mailings.
- While we do NOT make it a habit to monitor clients
bandwidth, IF our servers flag a site for excessive usage
of CPU resources/bandwidth then Harbor Bay Designs may also
at its discretion, suspend access to any client's
website and/or charge the client for bandwidth usage
without notice, due to over-consumption of excessive CPU resources/bandwidth
that causes excessive CPU usage, or any
other reason which might effect the performance of Standinghorse services. (examples: including but not limited
to: excessive bandwidth due to file distribution of heavy
graphical sites, heavy file downloads causing excessive bandwidth,
and/or excessive mailings that bog down the servers, cgi scripts
causing excessive CPU resource usage.) In short...don't abuse
our generous 'unlimited bandwidth' priviledges and/or limitations,
and enter into this agreement fully prepared to be responsible
and act responsibly for your account activity!
All
Plans: If you do not qualify for unlimited under the above limitations,
traffic will go unmonitored until you reach the above limits,
then normal data transfer costs of $9/GigaByte will apply.
Standinghorse will be the sole arbiter as to what constitutes
a violation of this provision
Chat Rooms
We do not allow clients to install their own chat rooms. These
tend to be large system hogs and we cannot allow it as a account
option. We do provide a Java based chatroom that will more than
fill your needs and run without hindering the performance of the
machine for others.
Background running programs
We may allow programs to run continually in the background, these
are considered on a one to one basis and a extra charge will be
incured based on system resources used and operational maintenance
needed.
Cron Jobs:
We do allow Cron Jobs to be conducted on our servers.
IRC:
We currently do not allow IRC or IRC bots to be operated on our
servers.
Commercial Advertising - Email:
Spamming, or the sending of unsolicited email, or using an email address from this host is STRICTLY prohibited.
